12/28/01 - The K.O.A. page receives a much needed face-lift. Actually it was more like a complete overhaul. Featuring the exquisite talents of artiste/artist-hater David Yang. Happy New Year you damn dumb monkeys!
8/24/01 - Visit the great, new music 'zine Echo From Esoterica and check out Theselah's first online interview as well as this review. Also, a couple of reviews which nearly passed under our noses undetected: Basement-Life and Almost Cool. A big "thanks" to all the writers!
6/28/01 - Mr. Thompson of Fufkin and Pop Matters heaps on the high praise, and Geek America uncovers the Theselah/Tesla connection... which leads to the question, "How exactly should one pronounce 'Theselah'?" This problem is an age-old point of debate and scholars have narrowed the possibilities down to three. Behold: 1)the se la 2)thes la 3)these la. Strike #3, it simply sounds repugnant. #2, the 'Tesla' soundalike, must also go. To cut a long answer short, the band generally goes with variations on #1, spoken in even and unaccented syllables with either a soft or hard 'th'. Uttereth #3 and they'll slay you in your sleep.
6/10/01 - The latest review of NSMF is at Aural Innovations. But talk about leaping to conclusions! A few clarifications: 1) Dave and Pete are brothers, Nam and Joe are not. 2) Although irrelevant to the review, yes, the first Theselah cd was recorded on similar gear. 3) It does not necessarily follow that the band which records independently "should sound exactly the same live" as they do on a recording. 4) The last quote from our press sheet, while it seemed to bear some import when it was drafted, now admittedly reeks of melodramatic flair. Sorry about that folks! Yknow the embarrassment is all ours. 5) Yes Albert, we shall see what is in store. While Theselah respects the opinions of this reviewer, the band simply wishes to set straight certain errors of assumption. No hard feelings Albert! Joe for one agrees with that it's all about the jams baby. It's pretty remarkable the diverse range of reactions this release has produced- it seems every reviewer so far has latched onto a different aspect of the cd to like. Vive la difference!
5/28/01 - Theselah goes punk! That and other fine reading at Leonard's Lair. Also, dig our recently reduced prices.
5/14/01 - An encouraging and incisive review of Theselah's NSMF at Delusions of Adequacy.
5/1/01 - The reviews just seem to be rolling in this time of year! A new one is up on the May issue of babysue, and here's the review. For the future, K.O.A. resolves to never mention 4-tracks in a press release ever again.
