Jack Tung is a San Francisco based post-hardcore punk and electronic influenced musician who began his instrumental solo project in 2002. He performs with a guitar, drum machine, synthesizer, and effects pedals.

Jack Tung's new EP sees him further developing his musical concept of the one man band: an IDM/post-hardcore powerhouse. Distinguishing this release from his earlier work, this is the first work by Jack to be completely recorded and mixed by himself. He is now truly a self-contained music making machine and we, the listeners, have a direct line into the music that he hears in his head.

Jack plays with foreground and background expectations, at times inverting them, with quiet sounds leaping forward, and crushing guitar chords fading into the background. The verbal samples used on the works add a new dimension of humanity to the compositions as well, serving almost as lyrics to this staunch instrumentalist. There is a message coming forward confirming what we knew all along, there is a tender heart beneath all the madness.
